Three Rivers College holds ribbon cutting for new Manufacturing Tech Lab
SIKESTON, Mo. (KBSI) – Three Rivers College held a ribbon cutting for its new Manufacturing Tech Lab at its Sikeston location on Tuesday.
The Manufacturing Tech Lab will host all Manufacturing Tech programming and workforce customized training on the second floor of the Three Rivers – Sikeston location at 1400 S. Main Street in Sikeston.
This includes Robotics, AC/DC training, Programmable Logistics and more.
“It’s been a long time coming and we’re just very excited about it,” said Missy Marshall, director of off campus locations at Three Rivers College. “This is the newest one and it’s been done, remodeled of sorts.”
She also explains one of the benefits of the new tech lab is that it is not only for students but employers also.
“This will benefit anybody who wants to go into manufacturing or logistics in the region,” said Marshall. “It benefits the company in efficiency, but it benefits the employee in their skillset.”
Marshall says the tech lab, which features robotics, AC/DC training and programmable logistics, is flexible and gives everybody an advantage with time and assistance.
“We currently have three days a week that the instructor is here so they can work hands on in the lab and learn,” she said.
With one of those instructors is Assistance Instructor Joe McCallister.
“We’re here to serve the community through educational experience and opportunity,” said McCallister
The lab’s design is based on students partly studying online and partly going into classes on different days of the week.
