POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. (KBSI) — Three Rivers College has named longtime baseball coach Stacey Burkey its 2026 Raider of the Year.
College officials say Burkey has been connected to the school for more than four decades, beginning as a Raider student-athlete in 1982. He later served as an assistant coach before spending 27 years as head baseball coach, compiling 604 career wins.
According to the college, Burkey has coached more than 500 players, with about 90% advancing to four-year programs. Forty former players have signed professional contracts, including multiple Major League Baseball players and one MLB umpire.
Burkey continues to mentor players and assist the program, officials said.
He will be recognized during Raider Reunion on Saturday, Feb. 21, at halftime of the Raiders basketball game at the Libla Family Sports Complex. The game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
