Three schools cancel classes & more due to illness

PORTAGEVILLE, Mo., (KBSI) — A surge in student and staff illnesses has prompted three southeast Missouri school districts to close for the remainder of the week.
Portageville schools will shut down Thursday and Friday, shifting to remote learning. All extracurricular activities have been canceled.
North Pemiscot Schools will also transition to remote learning Thursday and Friday. Elementary students will work on assignments sent home Wednesday, while junior high and high school students will follow online instructions.
Malden schools will close Friday, with students participating in online learning. Homecoming events have been postponed, and sports games and practices will resume Monday.
