SCOTT COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — The Scott County Sheriff’s Office has arrested three Sikeston residents following an armed robbery and road rage incident that occurred Tuesday afternoon across Scott County.
At approximately 1:49 p.m. on Nov. 3, deputies were alerted after two victims arrived at the Scott County Jail to report a road rage confrontation in which a firearm had been pointed at them.
According to detectives, the incident began when one of the victims arranged to sell a vape device through social media. During the meeting at Express Fuel in Benton, the buyer — later identified as a juvenile — took the vape without paying and fled to a waiting silver Toyota Camry. As the victim approached, a rifle was reportedly pointed out the passenger window.
The victims attempted to flee but were pursued north on State Highway 77 and onto Interstate 55. During the chase, the suspects allegedly brake-checked the victims, causing a collision.
One suspect then fired what appeared to be an airsoft rifle, striking the victim in the face, and as the vehicles neared the Kelso exit, a handgun was reportedly fired from the suspect vehicle.
Deputies and detectives quickly located and stopped the silver Camry near Highway 61 south of Benton. The occupants were identified as:
- Alexander Drake Henderson, 19, Sikeston
- Elijah D. Loflin, 19, Sikeston
- Louis Dewayne Woods, 19, Sikeston
- Juvenile suspect (name withheld)
A loaded 9mm handgun was recovered from the vehicle, which was later impounded pending a search warrant. Upon executing the warrant, investigators located additional firearms, masks, cash, and marijuana (illegal for those under 21).
Henderson, Loflin, and Woods were each charged with:
- First-degree robbery (Class A felony)
- Second-degree assault (Class D felony)
- Armed criminal action (unclassified felony)
- Unlawful use of a weapon – shooting at/from a motor vehicle (Class A felony)
All three suspects are being held without bond in the Scott County Jail, and additional charges are possible.
“This case highlights how quickly a simple online transaction can turn dangerous,” said the Scott County Sheriff’s Office in a statement.
“We are proud of the swift response and teamwork by our deputies and detectives in apprehending these suspects before anyone else was seriously harmed. Our office will continue to pursue those who endanger our citizens through reckless and violent actions.”
