Tornado confirmed in Scott County, leaving 2 with minor injuries
From a survey done by the National Weather Service, a brief EF-2 tornado was said to have struck a homestead near Bertrand in Scott County, Missouri. The tornado started on County Highway 532, just west of the intersection of Highway O.
The tornado was estimated to have reached maximum wind speeds of 115 mph, while being on the ground for just over a quarter of a mile. All of this lasting under a minute just after 2 p.m. Monday.
The tornado shifted and damaged several grain bins and destroyed two barns, according to the National Weather Service. A person in a truck nearby had their vehicle partially lifted by the brief tornado. After crossing Highway O, a house was damaged with roofing removed and exterior walls collapsing on both the house and a nearby building.
Two people suffered minor injuries due to flying debris. After going through and shredding nearby trees, the tornado dissipated.
