Tornado touches down in Ballard County, causing 8-year-old to suffer head injury; unresponsive

BALLARD COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — Emergency management officials report multiple injuries and catastrophic damage after a tornado touched down in Ballard County.

An 8-year-old child suffered a critical head injury from debris and is currently unresponsive.

The incident occurred when a van carrying four people was hit by the tornado. The vehicle was traveling on Wickliffe Road, where extensive damage has been reported.

A long line of debris has been spotted east of Gage, in the southeastern corner of Ballard County.
