Touch of Nature Trails looking for volunteers for build dates

MAKANDA, Ill. (KBSI) – Touch of Nature Trails is looking for volunteers from now through the spring to help with the maintenance of the multi-use trail system.

Ben Allen, a graduate student at Touch of Nature Trails, says the extra volunteers’ help is important to help the crew work on bigger projects.

“It is huge, yeah, right now I think we have really one to two people specifically designated for doing that and with even just our little 12 miles of trails, there are a lot of trees and sticks that come down so that volunteer help really helps us get our big projects done, where we do not have the time otherwise,” said Allen.
