Touchstone Energy Classroom Empowerment Grants now open

MURPHYSBORO, Ill. (KBSI) – Egyptian Electric Cooperative has announced that applications for the Touchstone Energy Classroom Empowerment Grants are now open for the 2024-25 school year.

Ten classroom empowerment grants valued at $500 will be awarded.

Applications will be available to both public and private schools in the Egyptian Electric service territory.

The purpose of the grant is to empower teachers and administrators to enhance educational opportunities for students through
innovative classroom projects.

Winning applications will be based on projects that best serve the purpose of improving the learning environment and or increasing educational resources for students.

Applications must be submitted by Friday November 8th. The winner will be announced by Friday November 6th.

To apply, interested educators should:
• Review the information form for official rules at eeca.coop
• Complete the one-page application and a type-written request (no more than three pages)
• Submit all documents by Friday, November 8

Some of the are school districts that may apply but are not limited too are Carbondale, Carterville, Chester, Coulterville, DeSoto, DuQuoin, Elverado, Marissa, Murphysboro, Pinckneyville, Red Bud, Sparta, Steeleville, and Trico.

Applicants are eligible to apply every year and do not have to receive services from Egyptian Electric Cooperative to apply.
