Traffic stop in Carbondale leads to gun, drug charges for two men

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — A late-night traffic stop in Carbondale led to weapons and drug charges for two men, police said.
Officers stopped a vehicle at 11:39 p.m. Saturday in the 500 block of West Freeman Street for a moving violation. During the stop, police said they saw a firearm inside the vehicle and later found a second gun during a search.
Investigators said Henry Dolmon, 20, of Cordova, Tennessee, possessed one firearm, while Corey M. Trapp Jr., 18, of Kankakee, Illinois, possessed the other. Trapp also had an illegal amount of suspected cannabis, police said.
Dolmon was charged with aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon. Trapp was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of cannabis. Both were booked into the Jackson County Jail pending detention hearings.
The driver, Brayden A. Taylor, 20, of Carbondale, was cited for improper lane usage and illegal transportation of alcohol and released pending a court appearance.
