Traffic stop in Carbondale leads to weapons, drug charges against Colp man

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) – A Colp man was arrested Wednesday after Carbondale police said he was found with a firearm and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop.
Police said officers stopped a vehicle with expired registration in the 500 block of East College Street at 5:41 a.m. Sept. 17. The driver, identified as Galen E. Mack, 57, was arrested on charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a weapon by a felon, possession of a weapon by a street gang member and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Mack was taken to the Jackson County Jail pending a detention hearing.
