Traffic stop in Murray leads to methamphetamine bust, two arrests
MURRAY, Ky., (KBSI) — A traffic stop in Murray led to the seizure of approximately 6.5 ounces of methamphetamine and the arrest of two individuals.
On March 12, 2025, the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division, assisted by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, conducted a traffic stop on S. 12th Street.
A K9 unit was deployed, and the driver, Morgen Borens, and a juvenile passenger were detained.
A search of the vehicle revealed methamphetamine, prescription pills, marijuana, and drug trafficking paraphernalia.
A subsequent search of a residence on State Route 94E uncovered additional quantities of methamphetamine, prescription pills, and paraphernalia.
Denny Cope, 48, of Benton, was detained upon arrival at the residence, attempting to tamper with evidence.
Borens, 32, of Murray, was arrested and lodged at the Calloway County Detention Center, facing charges including trafficking controlled substances and possession of marijuana. Cope was charged with tampering with physical evidence.
