Traffic stop in Reynolds County leads to drug possession arrest

REYNOLDS COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — The Reynolds County Sheriff’s Office says a routine traffic stop Tuesday night led to the discovery of methamphetamine and the arrest of the driver.

According to the sheriff’s office, a deputy conducted the stop and received consent to search the vehicle. During the search, the deputy located methamphetamine.

The driver, identified as Jason Simpson, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and placed on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges.

The sheriff’s office thanked deputies for their continued efforts to keep the community safe. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
