Traffic stop leads to drug arrest in Graves County

GRAVES COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) – A late-night traffic stop on Oct. 9 led to the arrest of a Mayfield woman on multiple drug-related charges.
At approximately 11:35 p.m., Deputy Austin Ramage with the Graves County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling north on KY 97 near the 500 block after observing a traffic violation. The driver was identified as Natasha M. Allen, 36, of Mayfield.
A K9 unit from the Mayfield Police Department responded to the scene. The K9 gave a positive alert indicating the presence of illegal narcotics in the vehicle. A subsequent search revealed approximately 3 grams of methamphetamine, U.S. currency, a glass pipe with methamphetamine residue, and other drug paraphernalia. Allen also showed signs of impairment consistent with drug use.
Allen was taken into custody and charged with the following:
- Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree (Greater than 2 grams of Methamphetamine), 1st Offense
- Careless Driving
- Failure of Owner to Maintain Required Insurance (2nd Offense)
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence (DUI)
Allen was initially transported to the Graves County Restricted Custody Center and later lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.
Deputy Ramage was assisted at the scene by Deputy Andrew Prusaczyk, Sergeant David Harrison, and K9 Storm with the Mayfield Police Department.
