BURNA, Ky., (KBSI) – A Burna man was arrested Thursday afternoon after deputies said he was caught speeding and found with illegal drugs in his vehicle.

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office said Deputy Zackary Dunigan stopped a vehicle on U.S. Highway 60 West on Aug. 28 after clocking it at 75 mph in a 55-mph zone. The driver, identified as 63-year-old Donald Moore Jr., was found to have drugs inside the vehicle and concealed on his person.

When deputies attempted to detain Moore, he resisted, and a struggle followed. Deputies said they used less-lethal methods to gain compliance and ultimately took him into custody without further incident.

Moore is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless driving, speeding 20 mph over the limit, resisting arrest and driving under the influence.
