Traffic stop leads to drug trafficking charges in McCracken County

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — A Paducah man was arrested Thursday afternoon following a traffic stop that led to the discovery of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, according to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop at about 4:15 p.m. Jan. 29 near the intersection of Blandville Road and Highland Church Road for observed traffic violations.
During the investigation, deputies said Gregory Pannell, 43, was found in possession of multiple items of drug paraphernalia, a large amount of U.S. currency believed to be proceeds from illegal narcotics sales, and about 29 grams of suspected methamphetamine.
Pannell was arrested and taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
He was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, second offense or greater, involving more than 2 grams of methamphetamine; no operator’s license; possession of drug paraphernalia; and tampering with physical evidence.
