Traffic stop leads to meth trafficking arrest in Graves County

GRAVES COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — A traffic stop Sunday night led to a drug trafficking arrest after deputies recovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, according to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said a motorcycle was stopped around 10:46 p.m. April 5 after it was observed speeding. Prior to the stop, a deputy reported seeing items discarded from the motorcycle onto the roadway.

Additional deputies and a trooper with Kentucky State Police responded to assist and recovered three baggies and drug paraphernalia.

Authorities said two of the baggies contained methamphetamine totaling approximately 26.97 grams.

The operator was identified as Christy R. Hunter, 54, of Graves County.

Hunter was charged with trafficking methamphetamine over 2 grams, tampering with physical evidence, speeding, criminal littering and other traffic offenses.

The Graves County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Kentucky State Police and Glen’s Towing.
