Traffic stop leads to police finding methamphetamine in downtown Cape Girardeau
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI)- On March 26, 2023, at about 12:40pm an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 200-Block of N. Lorimier for a traffic violation.
During the course of the investigation, the officer identified the driver as Joseph Salmon, 39, of Malden and the passenger as Devon Davis, 28, of Sikeston.
During a search of the vehicle the officer recovered approximately 28 grams of suspected methamphetamine, prescription pills and a loaded firearm.
Salmon was formally charged through the Cape Girardeau County Prosecutors Office for Class C felony of delivery of a controlled substance and is currently being held on a $30,000 Cash/Surety bond.
Davis was formally charged through the Cape Girardeau County Prosecutors Office for Class C felony of delivery of a controlled substance, Class D felony of possession of a controlled substance, Class D felony of unlawful possession of a firearm and Class E felony of unlawful use of a weapon.
Davis is currently being held on a $30,000 Cash/Surety bond.
