Tuition, fees to increase at Southeast MO State for 2024-25 academic year

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Southeast Missouri State University will raise tuition and fees for the 2024-2025 academic year.
The Southeast Missouri State University Board of Governors decided to increase tuition and fees for the 2024-2025 academic year by 4.29 percent during its meeting Friday, May 17.
“The decision was reached after careful consideration, but this moderate adjustment is necessary,” said SEMO President Dr. Carlos Vargas.
Undergraduate domestic tuition and fees were set at $330.09 per credit hour. Graduate domestic tuition and fees were set at $427.74 per credit hour. Regional Campus tuition and fees were set at $214.96.
The board also approved updates to course fees, assessed to cover the cost of consumable supplies or other expenses unique to a course.
“SEMO remains one of the most affordable public institutions in Missouri. When you compare our cost with others and then factor in the quality of our programs. There is no denying that SEMO is a smart investment,” said Dr. Debbie Below, vice president for Enrollment Management and Student Success. “We have a scholarship program that 75 percent of our students are eligible for. SEMO offers one tuition rate nationwide for domestic students so out of state students will not see out of state tuition. And, the Will to Do Award covers tuition and fees for eligible Pell Students.”
She says SEMO remains committed to making higher education accessible.
