CENTRALIA, IL (KBSI) – A student resource officer for Centralia Junior High School reported to police that there was a threat circulating on social media.

During the investigation, police traced the message back to an 11-year-old girl on Sept. 12. The threat was to harm anyone who attended Centralia Junior High School. The mother cooperated with police and the girl was charged with Felony Disorderly Conduct. She was released to a family member. During the investigation, another 11-year-old came into the Centralia Police Department to confess to a separate threat posted on social media. The child was charged with Felony Disorderly Conduct and released to a parent. Centralia City Schools canceled class on Sept. 12 due to the threats.
