Two arrested in Marion drug investigation; meth, firearms seized

MARION, Ill. (KBSI) — Police executed a search warrant Wednesday at a residence in the 300 block of East Main Street as part of a narcotics investigation, authorities said.
The Marion Police Department said officers conducted the search after a controlled purchase of methamphetamine from individuals at the home. The department’s Emergency Response Team assisted with the operation.
During the search, officers recovered methamphetamine, weighing equipment, drug paraphernalia, two firearms and currency used in the investigation.
David C. Schoenecke, 73, was cited on multiple charges, including aggravated delivery of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, unlawful use of a weapon and violation of pretrial release.
Jacqueline R. Mathews, 41, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both were transported to the Williamson County Jail and are awaiting court appearances. Authorities said the investigation is ongoing and all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
