PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — Two face multiple felony charges following a violent assault and kidnapping in McCracken County, authorities said.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were dispatched Aug. 30 to the 7000 block of Noble Road for a welfare check. They found a man covered in blood walking along the road who appeared to have been assaulted. The victim was transported to a local hospital with incapacitating injuries.

Detectives determined the victim had met with Corban Koster, 18, of Paducah. During the encounter, investigators said, Koster beat the victim with a ratchet, stole his belongings and forced him into the trunk of a vehicle before abandoning him in the Noble Road area.

Koster was arrested Sept. 2 at a residence on Greenfield Drive and taken into custody without incident.

Further investigation revealed that Owen Wright, 18, of Paducah, allegedly arranged the meeting between Koster and the victim and helped destroy evidence of the assault. Wright was arrested Sept. 4 and booked into the McCracken County Regional Jail.

Koster is charged with first-degree assault, first-degree robbery and kidnapping. Wright is charged with complicity to first-degree assault and tampering with physical evidence.

The case remains under investigation.
