Deputy Austin Ramage stopped a vehicle at about 12:12 a.m. and arrested James D. Ramsey, 49, of Graves County, on a charge of first-offense DUI. During a search of the vehicle, deputies said they found crystal methamphetamine and marijuana.
Ramsey and the passenger, Gwynth A. Turner, 25, also of Graves County, were each charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, tampering with physical evidence, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ramsey was additionally charged with DUI and traffic offenses.
Deputies said Turner had three active warrants at the time of her arrest, including two contempt warrants from Graves County District Court and an indictment warrant from Graves County Circuit Court for first-degree possession of a controlled substance and other drug-related charges.
Both suspects were transported to the Graves County Restricted Custody Center and later lodged at an out-of-county detention facility.
