Two construction workers injured in explosion at church building site

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) – UPDATE: Two construction workers were injured in an explosion at a church building site in McCracken County.

Deputies and first responders were dispatched to Lone Oak First Baptist Church around 12:49 p.m.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office is investigating with assistance from the Paducah Police Department.

The injured workers were initially taken to a local hospital before being transferred to an out-of-state hospital.

The sheriff’s office will release additional information as it becomes available.

An accident occurred at a church construction site, prompting a call for prayer.

First responders are attending to those involved. The church is asking its community to pray for everyone affected, including A&K Construction, subcontractors and their families.
