LYON COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – Two men face multiple charges after Kentucky State Police troopers say they robbed a woman at a park in Lyon County.

KSP dispatch received a report of a robbery at the Lee S. Jones Park just toward the Eddyville area around 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and Eddyville Police Department responded to the report and found a female who said she had come to the park to walk her dog when a vehicle pulled up beside her car and broke her car window before stealing her purse and taking off.

Lyone County Sherriff Brent White talked with witnesses, got the description of the people and shared this information with other law enforcement in the area.

A KSP CVE officer found the suspect vehicle on I-24 in Lyon County. The vehicle was stopped in Marshall County.

After attempting to detain the driver, troopers say a passenger moved to the driver’s seat and left in the vehicle while the original driver fled on foot.

A vehicle chase into multiple counties by KSP and local law enforcement led to the LBL National Recreation Area in Trigg County. A suspect, later identified as Jermal Davis, 27. of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla, was arrested after a foot chase with help from the Stewart County (TN) Sheriff’s Office K-9 team.

The suspect vehicle and evidence tying the suspects to the incident in Lyon County was recovered.

Around 7:49 p.m., the sheriff’s office, KSP and Lyon County EMS responded to a 911 call of a person on the side of I-24 just inside Lyon County near the Cumberland River bridge.

The caller stated the subject appeared unconscious. The subject was identified as Jovon D. Moss, 34, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Troopers say he is the original driver who ran on foot from the traffic stop in Marshall County.

Moss was arrested.

Both Davis and Moss face charges of complicity to burglary-3rd degree, criminal mischief-1st degree, theft by unlawful taking-contents from vehicle over $500 and possession of burglary tools. They face additional charges.

Both were being held in the Crittenden County Detention Center.
