Two individuals taken into custody following search

FAIRFIELD, Ill., (KBSI) — Authorities executed a search warrant at a residence in Fairfield, leading to the arrest of two individuals in connection with a burglary investigation.

Detectives from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by deputies and officers from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and Fairfield Police Department, searched the residence at 306 Highland Ave.

Bobby W. Cottrill, 47, was arrested on charges of burglary, theft and criminal damage to property. He was taken to the Jefferson County Jail.

Amanda G. Peters, 45, was held on unrelated arrest warrants from Wayne and Clay counties. Additional charges related to the burglary investigation are pending.

Both individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
