GRAVES COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — Two people, including an infant, were killed in a house fire early Monday morning, according to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were dispatched around 1:17 a.m. March 23 to a home at 5363 Central Road after a 911 caller reported a fire and said five people were inside.

Deputies Andrew Prusaczyk and Austin Ramage arrived within minutes and found that three people had escaped. Two others were believed to be trapped in an upstairs portion of the home.

Authorities said the deputies attempted to enter the residence using tools but were unable to gain access due to the structure being fully engulfed in flames.

Fire departments from Sedalia, Cuba and Wingo responded, along with the Mayfield-Graves Fire and Rescue Squad. Crews worked for several hours to extinguish the fire.

Shortly before 6 a.m., the bodies of Arianna Teems, 19, and her 7-month-old son, Cole Walker, were found in the debris.

The Kentucky State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Graves County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Sheriff Jon Hayden said the sheriff’s office extends its condolences to those affected.
