CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Two Notre Dame Regional High School seniors have earned appointments to the United States Military Academy at West Point, one of the nation’s most selective service academies.

Lily Coy and Grayson Maurer will attend West Point following graduation, joining a highly competitive incoming class that emphasizes academic achievement, leadership and athletic performance, according to academy officials.

The application process includes meeting rigorous academic standards, participating in athletics, securing a congressional nomination and passing medical and fitness evaluations.

Both students credited their coaches, families and school community for supporting them through the process as they prepare to begin their military and academic careers.
