Two teens killed in Franklin County crash

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ill., (KBSI) — Two teenagers were killed late Saturday night in a single-vehicle crash in Franklin County, authorities said.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a 911 call at about 11:28 p.m. reporting a crash on Rend City Road near the intersection of Keller Mine Road. AMR Ambulance and personnel from the Sesser Fire Protection District were also dispatched to the scene.
Deputies arrived and found two occupants of the vehicle dead. The victims were identified as a 16-year-old male and a 17-year-old male, both from Franklin County.
The crash remains under investigation by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and the Franklin County Coroner’s Office. No additional information has been released.
