Two trailers recovered, Kevil man arrested in Hickman County theft case

CLINTON, Ky., (KBSI) – Two men have been charged in connection with the theft of two trailers from a Hickman County farm, according to the Hickman County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said they received the initial theft report on Aug. 4. On Sept. 19, investigators located one of the trailers, which was confirmed as stolen by the owner. The man in possession of the trailer told deputies he had purchased it from Nathan Son of Kevil, Ky.

During questioning, Son admitted to the thefts and provided the location of the second trailer. Deputies also identified an accomplice, Shaun McKinney-Cross of Paducah, Ky., and obtained a warrant for his arrest.

Son was arrested and charged with first-degree burglary. He was lodged in the Ballard County Detention Center. McKinney-Cross remains wanted on a warrant for first-degree burglary.

Authorities recovered one trailer Sept. 22 in Brookport, Ill., and the second in Kevil, Ky. Both were returned to the victim.

The Hickman County Sheriff’s Office credited the Ballard County Sheriff’s Office and the Massac County Sheriff’s Office with assisting in the investigation.
