GRAVES COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — Motorists traveling through southern Graves County should prepare for a long-term road closure on U.S. 45 near Water Valley.

According to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, U.S. 45 South is closed to all traffic about one mile north of Water Valley while a new bridge is constructed over Jackson Creek.

The closure began Monday, June 8, and is expected to remain in place through the end of the year, weather permitting.

Officials said drivers will not be able to travel through the construction zone and should use alternate routes.

The bridge project is located near mile point 1.8 on U.S. 45.
