U.S. 60 blocked by semi crash in Crittenden County

MARION, Ky. (KBSI) – U.S. 60 continues to be blocked at the site of a semi truck crash in Marion/Crittenden County.

U.S. 60 is blocked in the Curve-Inn area of Marion near the 10 mile marker. This is along U.S. 60 between the Fords Ferry Road and Mound Park Street intersections.

The truck was hauling 20 crushed scrap cars that were scattered at the site. The crash took out two utility poles that carried a major fiber optic cable. The cable fell on top of the crashed truck and had to be carefully removed before the crash site could be cleared.

The truck and cars have been cleared. AT&T is still on site replacing a utility pole and reattaching the fiber optic cable. Marion Police and Crittenden County Sheriff’s Deputies are on-site to handle traffic control.

Estimated duration is extended until about 7 p.m.

The location of the crash does not provide many viable detour opportunities for trucks.

Passenger vehicles are able to detour via side streets. Truck should detour via KY 120 East and KY 654 West.
