Union City soccer teams celebrate 2026 season with postseason awards banquet

UNION CITY, Tenn. (KBSI) — The Union City High School and Union City Middle School soccer teams recently gathered to reflect on their 2026 seasons and recognize players during postseason banquets.

High school coach Travis VanHooser and middle school coach Jason Deem addressed players and families before presenting team awards.

Union City High School award winners included:

Alex Landeros — Team MVP
KhaZarion Scates — Offensive Player of the Year
Luis Maldonado — Defensive Player of the Year

Additional players recognized included Bryce Daniels, Alessandro Rosas, Silverio Acevedo, Jeremy Martinez, Alijah Simpson, Wrigley Harder, Cole Gurley and Brandt Huffstutter.

The middle school team held its banquet at Snappy’s, where players were recognized with the following awards:

Ryelee Byars — Team Player Award
Luis Escobar — Best Offensive Player
Walker Gray — Most Valuable Player
Michael Vallee — Best Defensive Player
Linden Hayslett — Most Improved Player
Alan Martinez — Top Scorer Award
