United Way of Southeast Missouri finds new home in downtown Cape
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — United Way of Southeast Missouri has purchased a downtown building, marking a new chapter in the organization’s 70-year history.
The building, located at 16 N. Spanish St., will serve as the organization’s new headquarters, with occupancy set for April.
To commemorate the move, United Way will host an open house on April 25 from 4-6 p.m., featuring games, music and a birthday cake.
According to Executive Director Elizabeth Shelton, the building will also house a Community Childcare Resource Center, supporting parents, childcare providers and employers.
The center will offer classes and services, addressing the region’s childcare provider shortage. Additional funding is being sought to launch the program, tentatively set for early summer.
Donations can be made by mail, online or phone.
