Uptown Jackson kicks off Fall Open House

JACKSON, Mo. (KBSI) – “It’s our favorite time of the year for sure.”

That time of the year being Fall, and at High Street Station, co-owner Lisa Walker said the store doesn’t mess around when this season arrives.

“I’m all decked out. I’ve got my ghost earrings on, and yeah, we take it pretty seriously around here,” she said.

The shop is participating in the Uptown Jackson Fall Open House, which Walker said kicks off the holiday season and a busy shopping season.

“People love the holidays,” she said. “It starts with Fall and Halloween and Thanksgiving, and then goes into Christmas, so the rest of the year is just super, super fun for us.”

Just down the street is Stitched and Stamped, a boutique owned by Christie Blessing, who said it takes a cohesive effort for this open house to be a success.

“It just means a lot for everyone to come out and support us, and collectively, like all the stores working together to make this a bigger event is refreshing,” she said.

And next door at Charmed Boutique, owner Celia Willett described why stores like the ones participating in the open house receive so much support.

“It’s just a really tight-knit community, I think,” she said. “Everybody kind of sticks together and looks after each other.”

So, I suppose it’s safe to say it’s time for Halloween decorations and pumpkin spice everything.

“It’s just a really, really fun time of year,” Walker said.

The open house continues Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm.
