UTV overturns in Perry County, seriously injuring Altenburg woman

PERRY COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — A 28-year-old Altenburg woman suffered serious injuries Saturday evening after a UTV overturned and landed on top of her on private property in Perry County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 6:40 p.m. May 24 at 287 Lucky Lane.
Troopers said a 2023 Can-Am Defender Max driven by a 23-year-old Altenburg man was traveling westbound on private property when it went up an embankment and overturned onto its right side.
Investigators said the passenger was partially ejected before the UTV landed on top of her.
The woman was flown by Air Evac helicopter to St. Louis University Hospital with serious injuries.
The driver was not injured, according to the crash report. Troopers said neither occupant was wearing a safety device.
The UTV sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene.
