VA Medical Center employee recognized with BEE award

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo., (KBSI) — Joshua Stroh, a prosthetics representative at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center, has received the health system’s BEE Award for exceptional service.

The BEE Award, which stands for “Being Exceptional Every (Day),” recognizes employees who demonstrate outstanding care and commitment to veterans.

Stroh, an Army veteran, has worked at the medical center since 2021 and currently serves as a liaison between clinicians and patients, helping them obtain prosthetic devices.

“I’m the prosthetics liaison between the clinicians and the patients, and I try to help them get the appropriate devices,” Stroh said. “It’s the best job I’ve ever had.”

Stroh was nominated for the award by a registered nurse, who praised his positive attitude, patient-driven care and teamwork.

Stroh’s supervisor, Stacey Anderson, described him as an outstanding employee who embodies the VA’s ICARE values: integrity, commitment, advocacy, respect and excellence.

Stroh said he was surprised and honored to receive the award, adding that he feels his entire prosthetics staff deserves recognition for their team effort.
