VA Poplar Bluff to offer free pneumonia vaccine clinics for veterans in 2026

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo., (KBSI) — The VA Poplar Bluff Health Care System will offer free pneumonia vaccination clinics for eligible veterans at multiple locations throughout 2026.
Officials said the walk-in clinics will be held at seven facilities across southeast Missouri and northeast Arkansas. No appointment is required.
Veterans enrolled in VA health care who are 50 and older are eligible for the vaccine, along with those younger than 50 who meet certain medical criteria. Participants are asked to bring their VA health identification card.
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend routine pneumonia vaccination for adults 50 and older to help reduce the risk of serious illness.
Clinic dates and locations include:
- April 21 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cape Girardeau VA Health Care Center
- May 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Sikeston VA Clinic
- June 4 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Farmington VA Outpatient Clinic
- July 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff
- Aug. 7 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the West Plains VA Clinic
- Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Paragould VA Clinic
- Dec. 10 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pocahontas VA Clinic
Officials said the clinics are intended to provide convenient access for veterans to protect against pneumonia and related complications.
