Veterans Honor Flight of Southern Illinois announces Flight 17 for September 2026

SOUTHERN ILLINOIS, (KBSI) – Veterans Honor Flight of Southern Illinois has announced Flight 17 will take place Sept. 14, 2026.
The organization said another group of local veterans will travel to Washington for a day of reflection and visits to memorials honoring military service and sacrifice.
Officials are also encouraging the public to attend the Welcome Home celebration at Veterans Airport of Southern Illinois in Marion, where community members will gather to greet veterans as they return from the trip.
Organizers said the Honor Flight mission is supported by volunteers, donors, businesses and community members throughout Southern Illinois.
