VFW Auxiliary assembles care packages for homeless veterans

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo., (KBSI) — Members of the VFW Post 3838 Auxiliary assembled 100 care packages this week for homeless veterans in southeast Missouri.

The packages are being delivered to the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, where they will be distributed to veterans in need.

In addition to the 100 care packages, the auxiliary collected several other donated items for distribution.

The project was supported by 17 volunteers and one child, according to the auxiliary, which also thanked its veterans and family support chairs, donors and volunteers for helping make the effort possible.
