VIENNA, Ill., (KBSI) — Vienna High School has received a $10,000 School Breakfast Expansion Grant for the second year in a row to support Project Better Start, an effort to provide students with healthy, convenient breakfast options.

Last year’s grant funded supplies for a coffee bar. This year’s award will be used to create a grab-and-go breakfast nook so students can eat even when they’re short on time.

“This really is an opportunity to help give students a better start to their day and lay the groundwork for engagement and learning,” said Rebecca Guest, Vienna High School’s dean of instruction, who wrote the grant.
