Vienna High School seniors recognized for character and contributions

VIENNA, Ill., (KBSI) – Vienna High School seniors Suhmer Daubert and Jacob Waters have been recognized by Principal John Giffin and the Illinois Principals’ Association (IPA) for their outstanding character and contributions to their school and community.

Both students are multiple-sport athletes with exceptional grade point averages. Principal Giffin praised their achievements, saying, “Suhmer and Jacob have represented Vienna exceptionally well during their years here, and we are proud of all their achievements. They are both examples of what it means to be an Eagle.”

Daubert and Waters were honored at the 35th Annual IPA Student Recognition Dinner at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

The IPA recognizes outstanding students and supports educational leaders through professional development, networking opportunities and advocacy.

The IPA serves over 6,600 members, advocating for innovative educational leaders and providing quality professional development and networking opportunities.

Principal Giffin has been a member for a decade and was named Principal of the Year in 2021.
