VIENNA, Ill. (KBSI) — Two Vienna High School juniors have been selected to serve as Illinois 4-H State Ambassadors.

Bonnie Russell was named an Illinois 4-H State STEM Ambassador, and Grace Laubscher was selected as an Illinois 4-H State Art Ambassador. The roles allow students to represent 4-H at the state level while developing leadership, communication and advocacy skills.

As ambassadors, Russell and Laubscher will participate in statewide initiatives, promote positive youth development and serve as leaders within the Illinois 4-H program.

Russell said she is grateful for the opportunity to serve as a STEM ambassador and hopes to inspire others through her passion for science and involvement in 4-H. Laubscher said she is thankful to represent Vienna High School at the state level and looks forward to future opportunities.

4-H sponsor Leslie Bradley said the recognition is significant for the school’s relatively new 4-H program. Superintendent Dr. Joshua Stafford said the honor reflects the students’ leadership and the strength of opportunities available through 4-H.

Both students will take part in statewide events and initiatives throughout the year.
