Waitlist opens for sensory-friendly swim event at Cape Splash

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Autism Awareness of Southeast Missouri has opened a waitlist for its annual Family Sensory-Friendly Swim Evening at Cape Splash after reaching capacity due to high demand.

Organizers said the waitlist will be limited to approximately 50 additional participants.

The event is designed specifically for families of individuals with autism and provides a sensory-friendly environment for swimming and recreation.

Officials said families must have a member with an autism diagnosis to participate, and registrations will be manually reviewed and approved.

Autism Awareness of Southeast Missouri encouraged families to reserve only the number of tickets they need to help ensure as many families as possible can attend.
