SIKESTON, Mo., (KBSI) — Southeast Missouri Food Bank has received $8,500 in grant funding from regional Walmart stores through the company’s Spark Good program.

Food bank officials said the donation will support efforts to provide food assistance to families, children and seniors across southeast Missouri. Participating stores include locations in Cape Girardeau, Farmington, Jackson, Kennett, Malden, Perryville, Poplar Bluff and Sikeston.

Walmart also supports the food bank through its Retail Rescue Program, which helps recover and distribute surplus food, as well as its annual “Fight Hunger. Spark Change.” campaign, which runs through early May.

The Southeast Missouri Food Bank serves about 80,000 people each month through a network of partner agencies and programs across a 16-county region.
