Water main break causes citywide outage in Carterville, Illinois

CARTERVILLE, Ill. (KBSI) — A water main break in front of the Carterville Fire Department has caused a citywide water outage, officials said Wednesday.

The city reported that complications from the break led to the outage, which is expected to be restored by Wednesday morning.

However, a boil water order will remain in effect for all customers until further notice.

The public is advised to avoid the area of the break, located on the 300 block of North Division Street, a main thoroughfare through the city.
