Water main break impacts Sikeston neighborhoods; boil advisory expected

SIKESTON, Mo., (KBSI) — A water main break is affecting several neighborhoods in Sikeston and prompting a precautionary boil advisory.

According to the Sikeston Board of Municipal Utilities, crews responded Thursday afternoon to a break on the south end of Allen Boulevard. The road is closed to through traffic at Cresap Street.

Officials said water service has been impacted for residents on Fletcher Avenue, with additional areas now affected, including Cardinal Drive, Dover Street and Cleveland Avenue.

A precautionary boil advisory will be issued for affected customers once repairs are completed.

Crews continue working to restore service, and residents are asked to use caution in the area.
