WEAKLEY COUNTY, Tenn., (KBSI) — The Weakley County Sheriff’s Office will partner with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office for “Operation Hands Free” beginning April 1.
The campaign is part of National Distracted Driving Awareness Month and will focus on enforcing Tennessee’s Hands-Free Law.
Under the law, it is illegal for drivers to hold a cell phone or mobile device with any part of their body. Violations can result in points being added to a driver’s record.
Officials encourage drivers to follow the law and learn more at Hands Free TN.
