West Frankfort Starbucks to close after just over a year in business

WEST FRANKFORT, Ill., (KBSI) — The Starbucks in West Frankfort will close permanently this week, just over a year after opening.

In a notice to customers, the company called the move “an incredibly difficult decision.” “We know this may be hard to hear — because this isn’t just any store,” the statement read. “We’re deeply grateful for the community that’s been built here.”

The West Frankfort store, located off Interstate 57 in front of the West Frankfort Mall, was among hundreds nationwide slated to close. The company said the closures represent about 1% of Starbucks’ locations.

There is no word yet on what may replace the newly constructed storefront.
