Williamson County EMA warns of slick roads, closures after crashes

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill., (KBSI) — The Williamson County Emergency Management Agency is warning motorists of slick road conditions in the southern part of the county following multiple traffic crashes.
Officials said Lake of Egypt Road is closed between Illinois Route 37 and Power Plant Road due to a crash. A second crash has also been reported at the intersection of Power Plant Road and Country Club Road.
Motorists are urged to use extreme caution, avoid the area and seek alternate routes while crews respond.
Officials said road conditions remain hazardous, particularly during the morning hours.
