Williamson County launches “Inmate Work Detail”
According to Williamson County Sheriff Jeff Diederich has announced that effective December 12, 2024, non-violent offenders who have committed low level offenses are eligible for selection to serve as volunteers on the newly created “Inmate Work Detail”.
The work details focus on improving the landscape of Williamson County by collecting trash along our roadways and other civic projects which are designed to beautify our public spaces.
Citizens, and those who visit Williamson County, will be alerted to the presence of a “Sheriff’s Inmate Detail” by signage and participating inmates will wear bright orange clothing.
Work details are organized and managed under the direction of jail administration.
A uniformed Deputy is assigned to all work details to manage traffic safety and to prohibit inmate contact with the general public.
Inmates who participate in work details benefit by receiving credit for community service obligations and the opportunity to give back to the community.
